Villa Gyetvai Winery has reached another milestone with the launch of our méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine, Belvedere, this summer. It is made from Furmint grapes, and Balaton enthusiasts will have the opportunity to try it during the month-long Belvedere Premier event.
As a true Balaton winery, what better time to launch our sparkling wine than the middle of summer - the most sparkling time of the year? The month-long Belvedere Premier event will begin on Saturday 12 July, which is the last day of the 57th Kékszalag sailing race. It will start with a sparkling wine brunch at the Villa Gyetvai Winery in Balatonfüred. This will be the first opportunity for the public to taste Villa Gyetvai's sparkling wine. pezsgős brunch-csal. „Although we now have some firm favourites in the Villa Gyetvai line-up, such as the refreshing Sauvignon Blanc and the imposing Riesling, we have not lost the desire to experiment. With Belvedere, however, we have taken things to a new level, as the traditional method of making sparkling wine differs greatly from our experience of creating still wines. We took great care to ensure that every step of the process - from cultivating the grapes and determining the harvest date to preparing the base wine and the sparkling process, and then bottle ageing - was carried out with the utmost attention and expertise,” summarised Zsolt Gyetvai, Villa Gyetvai's winemaker and owner, describing the process of creating the sparkling wine.

With our sparkling Furmint wine, we can tick both boxes: industry data and our own experience show that sparkling wine is a wine type that is enjoying steadily growing interest both at home and around the world. Our decision to use Furmint for this sparkling wine demonstrates our commitment to the traditions of the North Balaton wine-growing region, where Furmint has a long history.
The Belvedere Premier will be launched on 12 July at Villa Gyetvai Vinotéka and Borbár in Balatonfüred. However, over the next month, sparkling wine lovers will also be able to taste it in three restaurants in Budapest and three around Lake Balaton.
