Only beverages made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant can be called tea. There are six types of tea, which are classified according to where they are grown, whether they are harvested from a tree or a bush, when they are harvested, which parts of the plant are processed, and the method used to produce it. If you’d like to learn about and taste these, we warmly welcome you to our winery’s main building, where, starting at 4:00 PM on April 15, Erzsébet Simon will guide us on this centuries-old tea journey.
Erzsébet Simon studied porcelain design, which sparked her interest in the tradition of tea drinking, the expectations surrounding cups and teapots, and tea masters. To delve deeper into the subject, she set out on a journey. First she went to China, to Jingdezhen, known as the cradle of porcelain, and then to Longjing, one of the most famous tea-growing regions. Next came India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Korea, and finally Japan.
