The sky often enchants us, whether it's the blue sky and cloud play during the day, or the mysterious world of stars at night. That's why we're delighted to present our next exhibition of photographs by an artist who spends a lot more time gazing at the sky and marvelling at its beauty than we do.
You are cordially invited to the exhibition of the astrophotographer Tamás Ladányi, which will be on display at the Villa Gyetvai from the 13th of September to the 23th of October.
Tamás Ladányi is an astrophotographer, teacher, amateur astronomer, member of the internationally recognised photographic organisation "The World At Night". His work has received recognition and wide publicity for his artistic level of astrophotography. He is the most successful Hungarian astrophotographer to be featured on NASA's homepage in the Astronomy Picture of the Day section. He has exhibited extensively in Hungary and abroad, from the Hungarian National Museum to Australia. He has contributed to National Geographic and Földgömb magazine. He is the author of two books, "Stars of Five Continents" and "On the Star Trail". His photograph of the Milky Way over Harghita is currently on display at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. As part of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme, he presented "The City of Queens" from an astronomical perspective. On the basis of his research on binary stars and his achievements in astrophotography, the Piszkéstető Observatory of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences named a newly discovered planet Ladányi (181298) after his surname.
