The Villa Gyetvai exhibition series kicks off on 14 June with Fanni Mikó's exhibition entitled The Art of the Beauty Queen. The artist summarises her artistic philosophy as follows: ‘Behind the role of beauty queen, there has always been another me: the creator. For me, painting is freedom, self-identity and inner dialogue. There are no expectations on the canvas – only honest feelings reign supreme.’
The exhibition can be viewed between 14 June and 15 July at Villa Gyetvai.
“As a child, I was interested in many things: I learned to play the piano, played chess and competed in handball. As a small child, I also found great joy in drawing and even won a few prizes for my work. By my twenties, I had become a young woman with a paintbrush in one hand and a crown on my head. How did that happen? For as long as I can remember, I have longed to see the world. I wanted to live, feel, see and experience everything. At the age of sixteen, I was spotted by a modelling agency and, a few months later, I found myself in China, far away from everything and everyone. However, life rewarded me with success. After that, I travelled to Turkey and several major European cities, where one photo shoot and fashion show followed another. In 2019, I was crowned beauty queen in Hungary, qualifying me for one of the world's biggest international beauty pageants. I went on to win the pageant in December of that year. This made me Miss Intercontinental, as well as being the first Hungarian girl to ever win a global beauty pageant. It was surreal and unimaginable. I long to share my extraordinary experiences. Perhaps I can achieve this through art. In everyday life, I work as a managing director and owner of our company. Everything I do, whether in art, beauty or business, has one purpose: to find my own voice and share it with others in an authentic and courageous way. I believe that life is not about routine, but about having bold dreams, persevering and continuously developing. This is my story, and this is my mission.”
