The next exhibition at our winery opens on October 11. We have previously explored the visually rich world of Lake Balaton through photographs on several occasions, but this time we are focusing on another body of water, the Danube, with the help of Gábor Nagy's photographs.
“The world's most international river is a particularly valuable natural treasure. It has reached almost halfway along its journey to the estuary, and so it unwinds a bit, regaining its wildness, slowing down for our sake and also slowing us down. It is at once water, drinking water, landscape, meeting place, venue for sports and romance, and, last but not least, our most dignified waterway.
Its silver line, like the main artery of our country, first runs eastward, then turns southward with the most striking bend along its entire length. The Danube connects the richest and poorest regions of Europe. It gains momentum in the rich regions to lift up the poorer areas along its way. In addition to the extremely exciting facts and connections, I would like to convey subjective experiences to the visitors of the exhibition through my pictures, so that I can explain why this river is so close to my heart.”
The exhibition will be on display at Villa Gyetvai Wine Estate 15between October 11 and November 15.
The artist's introduction:
“I was born in 1975, and ever since I started thinking about my career, I have always followed this path, which has led me here to present my work at exhibitions like this one. I consciously chose photography and tour guiding as my profession because I wanted a job that I would never get tired of and that would always inspire me to do it and develop in it. About five years ago, during COVID, I gained momentum in organizing exhibitions and educational lectures about my travels so that those who could not physically be there on one of my guided tours could also benefit from the experiences I had.”
Opening: 11 October 2025, 5 p.m. 17:00.
Location: Villa Gyetvai (8230 Balatonfüred, 23 Deák Ferenc Street; entrance from Erkel Ferenc Street)
Free entrance to the exhibition.
The exhibition can be viewed during 15the villa's opening hours until November 15, 2025. Before or after your visit, you can taste Villa Gyetvai wines or even while admiring the wonderful pictures.
