We had so many great results in 2025 that it was impossible to report on all of them in detail on the website. The 2023 Rosso made a big splash at the 2025 Veszprém County Wine Competition when it was chosen as the Wine of Veszprém County.
First held in 2011, the Veszprém County Wine Competition aims to draw attention to the county's historic wine regions and the value-creating work of the local winemakers. In 2025, two wines earned the prestigious title. The 2023 Villa Gyetvai Rosso was the top red wine, while Koronczai Winery's 2024 Irsai Olivér was the top white wine. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our colleagues!
Rosso is a special wine in our portfolio. As a winery on the shores of Lake Balaton, we have summer in our hearts all year round, and this wine perfectly captures that feeling. It is a light, fruity red wine which, like white wines and rosés, is best served chilled, although at a slightly higher temperature.
We first produced Rosso in 2023 using Kékfrankos and Syrah grapes. As with our other wines, we used manual harvesting and chilled fermentation, followed by ageing in steel tanks, to ensure that nothing masks the cheerful, fruity aromas of the grapes. It could also be described as a red wine for white wine lovers, as it has a moderate tannin and alcohol content, and features red berries rather than yellow and white fruits.
