The winery's second Hajnóczy Olaszrizling got off to a good start, as its late spring market launch coincided with it winning a gold medal at the 34th Balatonfüred Wine Competition.
In the competition, wines made from grapes grown in the Balatonfüred-Csopak wine region were evaluated on a 100-point scale by a jury of selected experts chaired by Dr. Diána Sárdy Ágnes Nyitrainé, Director General of MATE Budai Campus.
The second vintage of Villa Gyetvai's single-vineyard Olaszrizling has a high mineral and extract content, similar to the first. Our winemaker, Gábor Demjén, said of the grapes: “All the hard work and years of painstaking care invested in the young vineyard have paid off. Now we are reaping the fruits of our labour, not just figuratively, but in practice, as the Hajnóczy vineyard produced a reliable harvest even in the drought-stricken 2024 vintage.”
Hajnóczy displays all the characteristics of a genuine Olaszrizling, and its inherent elegance makes it an excellent choice for those who want a light yet refined and exciting white wine to enjoy in the summer heat. Although a great restaurant or the comfort of your own home are both excellent places to enjoy it, it is also worth experiencing how the wine tastes at its place of origin: the estate in Balatonfüred, where the Villa Gyetvai Wine Bar and Vinotéka welcomes visitors with wine tastings and cultural programmes throughout the summer.
